During those years, she has seen the volatility of the stock market especially during the tech bubble burst in year 2000. The NASDAQ dropped 45.9% from September 2000 to January 2, 2001. In October 2002, the NASDAQ dropped to as low as 1,108.49 – a 78.4% decline from its all-time high of 5,132.52, the level it had established in March 2000. For most of the people who had invested their hard earned money for retirements during that time, they lost almost every dollar they put in and were forced to continue to work (if there was any job available).

What she loves most about real estate investing is the power of leverage, the use of creative strategies, and able to be in control. Helen Chong started investing in real estate in 2007, with NO MONEY DOWN. She identifies the exit strategies and potential profits of each investment before she even makes the offer. She has numerous ways she uses to calculate her maximum allowable offers. She understands it can be very scary to take the first step in the real estate investing world, as she was the same way.
